ReadingGladly

Cultural and social organizations, are you . . .

• seeking interdisciplinary and culturally responsive public humanities programming for libraries, museums, community centers, senior centers, or theaters?

• eager to cultivate members’ engagement with your collections and missions by showing them how to “decode” cultural texts (books, visual arts, cinematic and stage productions) and discover their contemporary relevance?

Public Humanities Presentations

Topics to be developed in consultation with clients. Available workshops can be customized.

Additional workshop topics include:

• “Reading Picture Book Art”

• “How to Prepare Toddlers for College? One Book at a Time”

• “Shakespeare’s Plays and American Politics”

• “How to Watch Shakespeare on Stage or Screen”

Selection of Readings

I specialize in Shakespeare, Milton, and poetry; children’s literature and picture books; and ELA pedagogy (drawing on classic and contemporary fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama). I collaborate with clients on reading selections, accommodating requests for specific texts, authors, genres, historical periods, and thematic emphases whenever possible.

Please note:

I provide training in the comprehension and critical analysis of texts and in ELA teaching strategies. I do not conduct formal reading assessments or diagnose reading challenges (such as dyslexia or processing disorders).
